Why You should always Keep in Mind that There’s Always Plenty to Do

Plenty of work to do article-bryansarnold.com

The fact is that there is always plenty to do.

There is always something that can occupy your attention. Whether it be as an entrepreneur or otherwise.

This will always be a factual statement.

You can really get bogged down or distracted or find yourself in a place you never wanted to be in. All because you gave in to the all the little things that take you away from the prize.

You wonder why all the successful entrepreneurs harp on being focused. Because there is always work to do.

Anyone who’s worked a nine to five job can tell you this is a on-going instruction. Ever hear this before?

If you don’t have any work to do, get a hold of me and I’ll find something.

Cuz there’s always work to do.

Now there’s dumb work. Which is that busy work that usually takes you nowhere. And then there’s smart work. The work that is focused and set on completing each task.

You can generally tell if something isn’t getting done.  Probably means it’s not being executed correctly.

It’s just work that goes on and on with no finish line. That’s kind of how my WordPress theme search was going. Funny thing is with all that search, I’ve decided to go all the way back to my very first option.

Something I should have stuck with in the beginning. However that’s a lesson learned for the future and a mistake that will never happen again.

Smart work is focused and efficient. Fast and decisive. My search for a WordPress theme was none of that. My standards got in the way and it cost me.

Don’t let this happen to you if you can avoid it.

Dumb work has no real direction, non-efficient and indecisive. Sounds horrible doesn’t it.

This is the type of work that may seem good at the moment. You think you’re really doing something till you see all this time past and have nothing to show for it!

That’s a joke!

You need to get off of this dumb work carousel. It’s dangerous and profits you nothing. How embarrassing it is to tell people that you’re still working on something that should have taken you a couple of days at the most.

You won’t be taken seriously. You’ll hurt your brand and your online biz cred will questioned big time.

And no one likes to be questioned do they?

That’s never good. When you are forced to answer and all you can say is “uh…”.

Been there, done that.

So knock out the dumb stuff quick.

Because dumb stuff, that dumb work is created in between your ears.
When you just feel like you have to have it just right.

Or it has to be the bestest quality.
Or you need to get more approval or anyone’s approval to start.

Stop it already.

The work smart philosophy is to always, always go with the smartest strategy and the smartest tools to reach your goal.

Any other way is wasting your time.

You know it deep down. You just have to follow it.

Because there is just too much work to be done!

You can’t afford to drone on about a WordPress theme Bryan! See I’m preaching to the choir.

Dumb work has no place in your business.

If you were in a job, you wouldn’t take all week to finish a task would you? Not if you could help it. You would do everything in your power to make sure that work was done as soon as possible.

That big file would be handled cuz you just don’t want to look at it anymore. So why not have that same fire when it comes to your business.

That’s an idea!

If you’re willing, why you don’t you do this.

The Paper Stack Formula

Write a list of tasks you need to do for your business. But write each task on a separate page. Do a page break and jump to each page listing out the task.

You could also put down the details of each task and a guesstimate of how long it will take to complete.

From there, put then all in a folder or wrap them up in a rubber band. Throw it on the table and see how you feel.

If you do this right, you’ll have a huge stack of papers on your desk and you’ll be astonished with how large it is. See before, you’re able to see that stack.

But now having to look at it yourself, you can see that magnitude of the situation.

And in the immortal words of Kimberly “Sweet Brown” Wilkins, “Ain’t Nobody got time for that!”

There’s plenty of work that needs to be done to make your business a powerhouse in the industry.

Work smart at getting that work finished and off your desk.

Cuz you only have time for that!
